This module introduces you to the Energy Wheel - a practical, easy‑to‑remember tool that workers can use immediately.

Once you're familiar with the Energy Wheel, this module will take that concept a step further to help workers and leaders quickly identify high‑energy hazards most likely to cause serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs).

Safety is the presence of safeguards or the presence of controls. This module develops your capability to choose, evaluate, and confirm adequate controls for high‑energy hazards.

We know people make mistakes and that blame fixes nothing, so in this module we learn more about identifying and evaluating situations that make errors more likely.

In this module, you’ll learn about conducting energy-based observations to calculate a HECA score. We use these scores to measure whether life‑threatening hazards are effectively controlled.

This module will help you understand the importance of calibration and validation of process for HECA, ensuring that HECA assessments are consistent and reliable.
